Simon was one of the first members of the movement in Hungary. He was active in the hahsharot and was among the organizers of the movement’s 1943 winter camp in Balatonboglár. Simon distributed forged documents and taught the youngsters how to work in underground and self-defense conditions. He also took part in the smuggling of Jews from Slovakia into Hungary via Losonc (Lu™enec). Simon escorted the fugitives from Hungary to Romania within the framework of the tiyul. During one of his trips towards the town of Nagyvárad (Oradea), he was caught together with his friend Hanna Cohen. They were both taken to Auschwitz where they perished.
